Kathi Hansen, an Air Force brat, grew up in military bases in California, Texas, Idaho, South Carolina, and just outside Nancy France.
After negotiating teenagehood in suburban Minnesota, Kathi circled back to her roots in San Diego where she graduated from the University of San Diego School of Law and spent many years practicing as a trial lawyer.
She earned an MFA in Creative Writing from NYU, birthplace of her recently completed debut novel. Her short stories appear in numerous literary journals, including Gettysburg Review, Meridian, and Contrary Magazine.
Her home is Coronado California with her husband, where in addition to writing stories Kathi might be found trying to convince their large breed hunting granddog that their miniature labradoodle is in fact not the boss of him.
